Review for Poetry Quiz
This week's quiz will be on similes/metaphors, imagery, symbolism, and mood. Students will also need to know the definitions for narrative/lyric poems, repetition, refrain, and theme, which were on the quiz before the Mardi Gras holidays. The video has all the class notes including how to write a paragraph analyzing a simile or metaphor, which will also be on the quiz. As always if you have any questions feel free to contact me.

Welcome back!
WELCOME TO THE NEW WEB SITE FOR MS. BURNS' 6TH GRADE READING CLASSES! I am very excited about the spring semester. For the first two weeks, we will be reviewing what we learned in our fiction unit from the first semester. Interval testing (which is a mandatory test given by Jefferson Parish Public School District) will take place on January 25.
After completing the fiction unit, we will move on to our poetry unit, which will continue until iLeap Prep begins on March 29.
